A gathering of homunculus Part 4

I am not sure what Arya Darkstorm expected to achieve with her rather blunt message to Rising Phoenix but the effect was as immediate as explosive. Given her grand display of fury that illuminated the entire city of Las Vegas, I don't think The Upstarts are planning to join the New World anytime soon. An unexpected effect was the sight of an enormous Phoenix in the sky made all the homunculus ran in terror towards the monolith. There were hundreds of them. It was the first time that we could get a notion of their real numbers. Obviously on their trail, there were all the major players of this game, including the very angry Rising Phoenix and her friends.

What followed was pure chaos and wanton destruction. Soldiers from Elysium, servants of the Grey, Reptilian hybrids and their lackeys, soldiers from the Academy, the Upstars, random opportunists... and us. Luckily for us, my dear friend Zirconia Starfighter has a gift with fire and kept us from becoming a human barbeque at the hands of Rising Phoenix. Other weren't so lucky. When it became painfully clear didn't care that much about the homunculus safety, and were more focused on burning everything and everyone to the ground, every group opted to make the most of a situation totally out of control. So they picked as many homunculus as they could and ran away, using any trick no matter how petty and miserable.

As you may guess, we were on the receiving end of those tricks. The only thing that at the end saved our lives was the presence of our friend Alice. She managed to get to Rising Phoenix and got her to stop the battle, that had managed to turn all the land next to the monolith in a quite literal Hell on Earth. Suddenly ashamed of her actions, she decided to share the remaining homunculus with us and left. We were too exausted to do anything than count our blessings. Now we have 22 homunculus with us. We were in no condition to ask for more, and we don't really know what to do with them, but that is a story for another day. For now, we can say that the Gathering of homunculus in Las Vegas is over.

A gathering of homunculus Part 3

Things are getting more interesting and more complicated in Las Vegas. The gathering of homunculus around the monolith had already attracted all kind of players, from well known organizations to soldiers for hire looking for a job. Well, now we can add Rising Phoenix and her merry band. It isn't much of a surprise. I knew the presence of my friend Alice would be like a call to arms for the Upstarts. Rising Phoenix wants to impress her and this seems like the right ocasion. This will be an all out battle mixed with a Pokemon tournament, as the goal is to get as many homunculus as possible. Catch them all could be our warcry. I am pretty sure it's the number one slogan right now in Las Vegas. Even people who don't know what an homunculus is want one because they do know they are valuable. Otherwise there wouldn't be so many factions and free agents after them, right?

As you can see in the picture, our ally, the legendary cyber warrior Alice is ready to meet Rising Phoenix, while the rest will figure out how to get homunculus to a safe place. We are not capturing them. We are offering them a chance to stay out of a dungeon or a lab, which is where the others will put them as soon as they can. The moment to act will be very soon, as more homunculus are showing up to their strange night rituals at the monolith. At this rithm, there will be homunculus for everyone. I wonder if the enigmatic Augustus Severinus Píngolas will show up. It would be like Elvis assiting to a convention of Elvis imitators. Something that has to happen in Las Vegas.

A gathering of homunculus Part 2

Surprised, aren't you? I bet you didn't see this one coming. But if you were as intelligent as you think you are you'd know why I couldn't stay away from this so called gathering of homunculus. The self proclaimed Master of Disguise is a big COWARD and keeps hidden under some rock while the whole world apparently is looking for homunculus made after his sad and ugly appearance. It's clear that having three of them is not enough to make him show his face. Their connection mustn't be strong enough to hurt him.

We need more homunculus, not just to draw him out but to figure how to make him pay for his crimes against us, the High Table of Wisdom, and rightful heirs of the glorious legacy of the Academy. I have chosen this rumored gathering in Las Vegas because Gwen Marsters, the technomage from Bronx, has talked about putting together an army of cyberwarriors. I assume that the best of them will be there. I will show her my power. My dear Alice, you are about to see the biggest show in all the History of Las Vegas, and you won't to have to pay a penny.

A gathering of homunculus Part 1

The Upstarts have three. Elysium has an unknown quantity. Arya Darkstorm has one. I think it's our turn. We have been tracking six in Las Vegas. They seem to be atracted to the new shining monolith, where they perform a ritual every night. Their motivation and their connection or lack of with the monolith are still a mystery. What we know for sure is that we aren't the only ones after them. There are all sort of agents in the area following them. Many are freelance mercenaries who work for anyone and even sometimes for several clients at the same time.

The only reason we haven't acted yet is because we have seen this homunculus contacting with others. They are preparing a massive meeting. It's not a secret. Everyone in Las Vegas knows it and is waiting for it to make the move. How many will there be? Who knows? Maybe more than enough for all the interested parties. But we don't want them to fall in the wrong hands. Grey, reptilians, the Academy... anyone of them would use them for all kind of twisted experiments in order to create cannon fodder for their armies. We must prevent this. That's why I am leading a group of cyberwarriors to pick as many homunculus as possible and take them to a safe location, as Chrome Girl, who is already dealing with some nasty lackeys of the Greys.
